Middle Eastern Inspired Makeup

Sep 19th, 2009 | By Jackie | Category: Makeup, Fashion, and Style

This time around I was intrigued by Middle Eastern women, from their striking eyes to their astonishing makeup.  Middle Eastern women wear occasionally heavy makeup that looks gorgeous.  Their trademark: lots of eyeliner. In my research I learned that both men and woman from the Arabian Peninsula wore Kohl as they had a strong belief that the liner protected their eyes the scorching sun. They also used it for the simple purpose of making their eyes appear bigger and brighter. Now the Kohl used in the Arabian Peninsula is nothing similar to the Kohl pencils we use now in modern makeup; the kohl they use a very fine black substance that can be found in grocery stores in Arabia.

Now that we both learned something new lets gets to the really interesting part which is transforming you into a Middle Eastern goddess. This look is actually pretty easy to achieve: it consists of four shadow shades and eyeliner. The liner and shadow are what makes this makeup look so recognizable.

 Enjoy and Have Fun!

Makeup is just makeup up until you let your creativity emerge, its then when it becomes an absolute work of art.
