I have been dancing for thirteen years. As well as belly dance, I have trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, ballroom dance and yoga. I returned to belly dancing at the beginning of 2007 with the OhMaya Bellydance Company. I love to dance because it allows me to draw on musicality, drama and visual presentation in performance while using my body as an instrument. |

| My classical training enhances my individual style, and I strive to create a unique fusion of movement and presentation in performance and class. I like to package full dancers in my classes–not just technicians, entertainers or artists, but all of those things and more. | |

My performance style is a fusion of belly dance as well as influences from the dance forms I study on an ongoing basis. Modern dance is a huge influence for me. I perform in belly dance shows, corporate events, multicultural events, burlesque and vaudeville shows, variety shows and more. I get horrifically nervous before I go onstage and I don’t think that’s ever going to change! |
