Valentina (UNITY) is a second-generation belly dancer. She grew up in Los Angeles as the daughter of Leela, (www.leelabellydance.com) a successful belly dance teacher, troupe leader and producer. Both Leela and their mentor, Mesmera (www.mesmera.com) have influenced Valentina to be the woman she is today. Belly dance created a unique and strong bond between Valentina and her mother. It also helps Valentina discover the feminine power within her and the potential all women share. It shows her how to express that power naturally. Belly dance allows Valentina to discover herself, bond with other women and stay in tune with her body. Belly dance brings Valentina fitness, beauty, pure joy and a sense of connection with the ancient women who started it. Recently Valentina has combined her talent for belly dance with the new form of hoop dance. The hula hoop has evolved! Once only a way to pass time for youngsters, now, a revolution in performance art, dance and exercise. |

Valentina is a natural teacher. She breaks down each movement into steps that can be connected together easily. She is clear, concise and straight forward. Valentina is warm, passionate, enthusiastic and playful in class. Sharing the arts of belly dance and hoop dance brings her the utmost satisfaction. This is her calling and what she is supposed to do! It is in her blood. Valentina wants to encourage every woman to find the goddess within.

Performing since the young age of 12, Valentina is simply a star! She tries to break boundaries, fuse genres and generally bring something new to the table all the time. She combines belly dance, hoop dance, fire and burlesque into a seamless, unique and provocative style; Cirque Dance meets Burning Man meets Mata Hari for a new generation of entertainment. She has experience in both American Tribal Style as well as Egyptian Cabaret. That mixed with her classical dance training in ballet, modern, jazz and hip hop makes for an interesting repertoire. Valentina has performed at the Staple’s Center for arena football halftime show, the Avalon and The Henry Ford Music Box. She is available to entertain for any event, including birthday parties, corporate events, and weddings, at restaurants and night clubs. She plans to travel the world and be the leader of her own dance troupe someday.
Valentina will be seen soon on Showtime Television doing her hoop burlesque piece on the show Live Nude Comedy starring Shannon Elizabeth. This piece was originally created for Leela’s annual belly dance fantasy theater show called Arabia Exotica, held at the Highlands Nightclub in Hollywood.
